Welcome

Welcome from the Dean

Whatever has brought you to the American Cathedral in Paris today, we warmly welcome you into our community of faith and worship. In setting down the tasks that consume our lives week in and week out, we enter into a spirit of reflection as we turn in hope, in praise and thanksgiving, in prayerful petition, to our living God made known to us in Jesus Christ.

There is a wholesomeness to be savored and to be received in acknowledging the truth of our humanity. Our actions often disappoint our best intentions. We accept life as a mysterious gift. We long to understand the meaning of our lives. In worship, we refer these ultimate questions to the love of a God who calls us each by name. We come to find that we are known and loved more fully than we are able to know and love ourselves.

Whether you are a newcomer or longtime member of the American Cathedral in Paris, we urge you to enter more deeply into the life of this Cathedral community. Our adult education programs, our youth choir and Journey to Adulthood program for youth, our parish life activities, our mission and outreach commitments, offer weekly opportunities to enter into relationship with people who stand beside you today in prayer, in song and in praise.
