Bonne Mine/Bulgarian orphanages
Through Dominique Bayard's association, Bonne Mine, we help support about a dozen orphanages and schools, both in Plovdid, the second-largest city in Bulgaria, and in the surrounding areas. We have helped pay for plumping improvements, building repair, clothes dryer purchases and other things that help make life better for the children and those who care for them. We visited some of the orphanages (and were treated to a concert by the children at one, hugs at many). Every Christmas we prepare personalized Love-in-the-Boxe gifts for each child at the Maria Luiza orphanages, with a note to each child in Bulgarian and a photo of the child giving the box.
