AEES/Arab Evangelical Episcopal School in Ramallah
We provide scholarships for girls at this school, which is about 60 percent Christian and 40 percent Muslim. Many of the parents have lost their livelihoods because of the increased difficulty of moving from one part of the territory to the other, so the money is more and more welcome. We visited the school recently and will return again this year. We also brought deputy director Amal Duaybis to Paris in January 2009 and were able to hear her describe first-hand the difficulties the school operates under and to be inspired by the passion she and the others bring to their work. In 2012, youth pilgrims from the cathedral's J2A program will visit the school, financed in part by money they raised themselves.
