The Cathedral Choir rehearsing before the 11:00 service 

The Ministry of Music is very important to the life of the Cathedral. The great organ, built in 1887 by the prestigious firm of Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, was completed in 1970 by a smaller antiphonal organ at the west end of the nave. The workshop of Bernard Dargassies rebuilt both main and gallery organs in 1992-3. In addition to the music accompanying the worship services, there are frequent programs given not only by the Cathedral choir and its soloists, but also by visiting artists and ensembles from all over the world.
