LOVE IN A BOX

‘Tis the season’ to imagine our Love in a Box gifts, those bundles of joy which brighten the lives of children in need each Christmas.

In 2006 this Paris wide community service project, which is lead by a team at the American Cathedral, wrapped, packed and organized 1200 gifts for underprivileged children in Paris, Strasbourg, Mulhouse, Bulgaria and Kabul.

With your help we will be as generous in our giving this Christmas.

This first phase of this project, is the wrapping and packing of 500 boxes bound for the Salvation Army in Strasbourg and Mulhouse.
When and where to help:

Box Wrapping, Monday November 19th and Tuesday November 20th, 10am til 5pm at the American Cathedral, Parish Hall. Drop in for any amount of time and come and have fun. This year we have 500 boxes to wrap – so yes we DO need your help! Please bring scotch tape and scissors.

Family Box Packing Party, Saturday November 24th from 10am until 1pm at the American Cathedral, Parish Hall. Don’t miss our best event, always great fun, all ages welcome. We all pitch in to pack the boxes and move them into the Cathedral - please join in.

The second phase is the collection, sorting, checking and distribution of the boxes donated by schools, scouts and individuals in the Paris community.

Ways you can help:

Start shopping for your own boxes and ask your friends to join you in this great opportunity to help bring a smile to a child at Christmas. We need volunteers to sort and check the boxes from December 9 to 19 so please keep space in your busy pre-Christmas schedules for this and contact Elizabeth if you can help at this time.

Of course, we count on everyone to carefully fashion their own gift boxes (click for instructions) and to bring them to the Cathedral on or before December 9th, 2007.

We extend our heartfelt thanks in advance!
